Organising a hen night can be a daunting prospect for anyone, but all will be fine if you just take a deep breath and take the following into consideration

THE HEN

The most important aspect of organising a hen night is, obviously, finding out what the hen wants herself. An unhappy hen will make for an unhappy party!

DATE

Think about when you want the party to happen – I’d recommend at least a week in advance to give everyone ample time to recover!

BUDGET

Think carefully about how much you are willing to spend on the party – obviously, if you’re planning on travelling abroad for a weekend, costs will be significantly more than staying at home or travelling to a nearby town or hotel. You will also need to think about how much others will be willing to spend, as not everyone will be able to afford to take long trips.

GROUP

Everybody has a close group of friends they just couldn’t leave out when it comes to their hen night – they, afterall, are the people who will make it memorable. This means that you’ll need to take their needs into consideration just as much as your own, it is vital you organise well in advance and make sure that everyone is on board with your plans.

BOOKING

The earlier you book your party, the cheaper it will be and the less likely you are to encounter disappointment – remember that the good places fill quickly and you do not want to settle for second best! Think about where you are going and how you are going to get there, and book your travel for the group.

If you are going somewhere more local, you might want to think about hiring a mini bus or coach as this will be cheaper than loads of different taxis, not to mention the fact that if everyone travels together, the party can get started earlier!

PACKAGES

There are tonnes of companies out there who are willing to organise your party from start to finish and some great packages available for hen parties all over the country that include activities from cocktail making to pole dancing and are inclusive of accommodation. Again, these range in price so make sure that you have a clear idea of how much you want to spend, and get researching early to make sure you find the best deal!
