It can sometimes be difficult to keep everyone entertained at hen parties, especially if not everyone is totally familiar with each other. Luckily, there are some great hen party games you can play to get the party started.
Charades
Everybody knows this game, and its perfect if you happen to have people in attendance who would frown upon the traditional hen night layout - in-laws, for example.
You can spice things up though, obviously. Instead of using the typical film/book/TV show format, why not use sexual positions to make things just that bit naughtier.
Poker
You could think about inviting all your friends over for a poker night. Just root out that old deck of playing cards you know you have lying around somewhere, get some drinks and crisps and be prepared to win - or part with - some cash.
Wii
In the last few years there’s been a massive surge in popularity of this type of games console at parties. If you have one, why not challenge your friends to one of their sporting challenges or a dance off. Hours of fun and simple to operate for those who may not have used one before.
Drinking games
Goes without saying really, but if you’re ready to let things get totally out of hand, try playing some drinking games. I have never, ride the bus and ring of fire are all great places to start
Board Games
If you’re planning a particularly low key or tame event, then you could always bring out some board games to keep everyone entertained. For team games, try Pictionary, Articulate and Balderdash. If your group is quite small, you could pit your wits against each other with Trivial Pursuit or Scrabble.
Fluffy Bunnies
Really simple, but absolutely hilarious. Buy a big bag of marshmallows and get each member of the group to put one at a time in their mouths, after each one, they must say "fluffy bunnies". The winner is the person who can fit the most in.
The Digestive game
Each person is given a digestive biscuit and has to make the shape of a penis using nothing but their mouth. Sounds easier than it is, believe me!

Great Hen Night Ideas – Alice in Wonderland
| Leave a Reply
I love Alice in Wonderland. Its an absolute classic that is completely embedded in the hearts and minds of the young and young at heart globally. It also lends itself perfectly as a great hen party theme.
Send out invitations to everyone, making sure you tell everyone to come as their favourite Alice in Wonderland character or something suitably crazy. Be sure to include the tag line "Dont be late for a very important date!"
The great thing about an Alice in Wonderland theme is that it gives you the opportunity to go really wild with your imagination. You could either hire out a venue and decorate it or have a tea party in your own home - really its up to you, but you can go nuts with your decorations incorporating all of Carrols wonderful imagery; think playing cards, upside-down flamingos, playing cards, magic mushrooms, flowers and enchanted forests. Lots of hearts, of course, are particularly apt for a hen party.
For food, think simple, traditional tea party fare but make it a little bit different, for example, make everything minature or, if you are really skilled in the kitchen, you could decorate mini cupcakes with images of the characters. You could even try and make some "mock turtle soup"!If you want to put out snacks, Id recommend bowls of sweets like jelly beans with "eat me" labels attached - you could even try and find some of the little foam "mushrooms" you used to get as a child. You could also make up some punch or long island iced tea with "drink me" labels attached, or take things one step further towards the magical realm with mini tea cups of absinthe.
For games, get everyone to sit around a table for the night and sporadically shout "CHANGE PLACES" throughout the evening. This is great, particularly if there are certain members of the group who dont know the rest as they will constantly be sitting next to, and getting to know someone new.

Hen Party Games – Mr & Mrs
Mr & Mrs is a classic game and one that's been around for decades. Popularised by the TV show in the 1960's, Mr & Mrs makes for a great hen party game!
Before the night, ask the husband to be a set of about 20 questions - try and vary them as much as possible and try and sneak in a couple of naughty ones too ;)
On the night, when everyone is gathered around, ask each member of the party to guess how many questions they think the hen will get right and get them to place their bets, everyone puts in a couple of pounds and the winner can keep up to half the pot (the rest should go towards buying the group's drinks for the rest of the evening)
You can vary this game quite a bit too, make her do a forfeit or take a shot for every question she gets wrong or spread the questions out throughout the course of the evening for those moments things might settle down a little too much.
Here's some example questions to get you started:
- How old was he when he lost her virginity/had his first kiss?
- How did he chat her up when they first met?
- What is his most annoying habit?
- If you're going out on the town will your wife be more likely to:
- Stay in by herself and watch the soaps
- Go out drinking with her girlfriends
- Go to her mum's.
- What, according to him, is your most annoying habit?
Hen Night Slumber Party
| Leave a ReplyYou remember it well, the first time your parents let you stay at your friend's house for the night - that first time you really feel like you experience independence. So why not recreate it for your last by having a slumber party?!
There's loads of scope to what you want at your slumber party but you should ply your room with quilts, mattresses and cushions to make everything comfortable, and invite around all your friends - make sure they all come in their pyjamas!
With slumber parties, anything goes really, but you might want to get in some films that remind you of sleepovers you had when you were a kid. These can be anything, dependant on your audience, but definitely ones that will spark memories! The same goes with music, if you don't still have them, try and get your hands on some of the CDs you used to listen to as a teenager, or use the vast number of internet resources at your disposal to build playlists that will get you all singing and dancing - the same goes for karaoke, another, classic slumber party activity and one that provides guaranteed laughs.
When it comes to games, truth or dare is an obvious choice to play to keep you all occupied, so make sure there's plenty of wine flowing to get everyone talking. You can also make sure you have some pen and paper ready to make up ad libs and silly stories.
It's always fun too, to get in some face masks and give yourself a bit of pampering. You can also give each other makeovers and make the bride look (even more) beautiful ahead of her big day.
If you want to do something a little bit more adult you could throw an Ann Summers party or something similar. These are easy to arrange and heaps of fun, you might even be able to buy the bride a couple of naughty gifts to get her honeymoon going ;)
Hen Party Drinking Games

Pub golf has seen a massive rise in popularity over the last few years, and is perfect hen night game as it requires only a little preparation! There are a few variations on these rules, and it’s not exact science, but here are some basic guidelines:
You will need to plan a route and schedule in advance, as every pub or venue counts as a 'hole' and you don't want to end up spending too much time in one of them. You will need either 9 or 18 of these depending on your stamina and the number of pubs and clubs in your chosen area. Each of these holes is then given a specified drink - your par is dependent on how many gulps (strokes) it takes you to finish this drink (this can be modified depending on how many strokes YOU think this should be drank in e.g a shot would be one). You will also need to print up a score card.
The target, like with real golf, is to end your game on the fewest number of strokes i.e. to drink in as few sips/gulps as possible.
Example Drinks/Par scores
Shot - 1
Spirit & mixer - 2
Half a Cider - 3
Half a Lager - 4
Half a Guiness – 5
Terms/Scoring
Bogey - +1 stroke (i.e half of lager in 5 gulps)
Par - 0 (i.e half of lager in 4 gulps)
Birdie - -1
Eagle - 2
Penalties should be awarded to make things more interesting, so, if you spill your drink for example, you should add +1 stroke to your score card. The more severe the 'crime' the more severe the penalty!
To make things more interesting you can introduce some forfeits and other rules, so for example, if someone spills another player's drink then they have to get the next round in or at hole number 5 each person has to ask a guy for his number. Use your imagination, and most of all, have fun with it!
Dirty Hen Night Games
So, you're gathered around with your closest friends celebrating your last night of freedom - what better way to get the party started than with some dirty party games?
One of the most popular games is 'I have Never...' or 'Have you Ever' depending on where you're from - a risqué game that is guaranteed to get the drinks and conversation flowing!
Everyone sits around in a circle and takes in turns to reveal something that they have never done; you can modify this depending on the audience but to make things interesting, it's advisable to keep things of a sexual nature! As each person speaks, you must take a drink - either a shot or a gulp of whatever you're drinking - if you have done what they describe. You will find yourselves finding out things you never knew about your friends, and watch people get desperate as they run out of things to tell you! This is a great icebreaker, and is guaranteed to give you laughs and make the bride-to-be blush.
Another game is a little twist on the classic kid's party game - pass the parcel. Wrap your presents the way you normally would but place 'naughty' gifts and dares within the layers of the paper. There are loads of places you can buy these gifts now - chocolate cocks, straws, finger vibes, body chocolate - the list goes on! Everybody must do their dare or face a suitable forfeit - which, of course, should be worse than the original!
Or, if you fancy doing something a little bit more elaborate, why not try a scavenger hunt? You can either pre-arrange this, leaving clues and objects on a planned route or try it with a twist - aim to get as many pairs of boxer shorts or phone numbers; the person with the most objects at the end of the night, wins!
Hen Party Dares
Hen party dares don't have to be all about drinking. If you're downing three shots in a row every time as a forfeit the night could end up being pretty short. Dares should be safe to do but they should still push the player out of their comfort zone and hopefully be pretty funny to watch too :)
Come up with a list of ideas before you head out, that way you don't have to stop to think about it later, it'll be well worth the time I promise. Think about what people in the group will be comfortable doing but try not to make it too boring for those who're a little more adventurous.
Select the dares at random not by committee, this takes time and people are more likely to refuse, picking them out of a hat keeps it fair.
Keep it safe! Don't attempt anything that could cause injury to the player or others around them.
Keep it simple! The last thing you want is to do is try explaining a dare to your slightly-worse-for-wear group of friends later on in the evening.
Some typical dares for a hen night include:
- Get five guys to give you their numbers
- Get someone to order a Blowjob for you at the bar
- Dance really badly next to someone for a whole song
- Remove an item of underwear without going to the bathroom
- Order a round of drinks in a foreign accent (without laughing)
Hen Night T-Shirt Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts are probably the number one most popular game played on a hen night. They involve setting a list of tasks for the soon to be bride and/or members of the hen party to complete. Tasks can be things they must do or items they must find during the night out.
These could be anything from getting a stranger to give you their underwear to getting as many people as possible to sign their shirt. Each of the challenges must be completed or else they must face the consequences. Rewards or forfeits can be handed out for each successful completion or failure of a task.
You can play the game simply with a pen and paper or you can use a t-shirt with the tasks listed on the front or back. There are pre-made shirts available or you can create your own.
To create your own first decide on your tasks. Be realistic, there's only so much time in a night, so pick say ten items or one item per party member, provided there isn't a hundred people coming of course. Create a check list with a box so each item can be ticked off, watch out for cheating!
If you've done any great dares or forfeits at a party or hen night, feel free to share them in the comments below!
Top 5 Party Games for Hen Nights
| 1 ReplyIf you're organising a hen party don't forget to include at least one party game that the whole group can play. If you're stuck for party game ideas for your hen night then read this list of our top 5 favourite party games for hen nights.
- The Scavenger Hunt Game A very popular game at hen night parties. At the beginning of the night each guest should write down on a piece of paper a task they would like the Bride to complete. See how many she can manage before the end of the night.
- The T-Shirt Name Game This game requires a plain white t-shirt for the bride-to-be. Using a marker take turns to write down men's names, front and back. During the course of the night the bride must get people to search for their name and cross it off. You can award prizes for each successful name found or perhaps forfeits for each name not found by the end of the night!
- The Who Did What Game A revealing game and chance for the Bride to have some revenge for all the embarrassment so far. Each person at the hen party should write down a funny experience they've had with dating. Give all the pieces of paper to the Bride so she can read them out and then try to guess whose experience is whose.
- The Mr and Mrs Game Prepare a list of 20 questions and get the groom to answer them. Questions can be as simple or as random as you like. Some example questions are, "His favourite colour", "His most treasured possession", "His biggest childhood hero". Ask each of the guests how many questions they think she'll get right and see who came closest by the end of the night.
- The Story Time Game This is a game you may have played when you were young. You only need a pen and paper. Have the hen party each take a turn to write a part of a story, one sentence will do. Then after each turn fold the paper over so that the next player cannot see what has already been written. The last player in the game can then unfold the paper and read the story out aloud. Give each player a tip about what to write about to give the story some structure.
